This project involved the traditional terrace house extension brief of creating full width living areas to the rear of the property, adding bedrooms and bathrooms over, and pushing into roof space for an additional attic style bedroom. This design removed any of the single width corridors usually encoutered in terraces from the lower level to maximise light penetration, ventilation and the perception of space. Some service areas were left in the middle of the lower level (in the form of a bathroom and laundry) to give a feeling of separation between the formal and informal spaces.
